Yeah, yeah, I know. Planning to attend a bike expo almost 6 months in advance is kinda crazy. But the Gold Country Classic has a number of things going for it that requires you to get the calendar out right now and at least pencil in the dates.
The event is going to take place at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds just outside Angels Camp. Angels Camp is part of California’s Gold Country and the spectacular downtown is worth the visit. The event falls after the summer heat (hopefully). The venue’s vibe is perfect for camping out (and close enough to stay in town) and mountain bike, e-bike and cyclocross racing will fit right in. Sorry roadies. Finally, the event is being organized by two guys who have deep roots in the bicycle world, Todd Huffman and Steve Boehmke. Their involvement assures that you can expect plenty of participation from bicycle companies, cycling accessory companies and cycling celebrities.
