April 28th is quickly closing in on us and you know what that means. Yes, it is National Blueberry Pie Day. It is also National Superhero Day. Can’t forget it is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. The 28th will again be Occupational Safety & Health Day. Kiss Your Mate Day is celebrated on Tuesday, April 28th too (those needing a special day to kiss their mate might want to mark down January 6th, National Divorce Day).
If you think this is a lame attempt to be funny, you’re wrong. According to National Today, these are all legitimate proclamations that fall on April 28th (and I’m just naming a fraction of the National Days listed for the 28th). Unfortunately, one very important event did not make the cut. That would be National Adaptive Sport Day.
What is National Adaptive Sport Day and how do we celebrate it? I’ll refer you to this Substack article posted on Farther Verge that explains the day far more eloquently than I could ever hope to. The opening line, “A day not merely marked, but earned” speaks volumes.
So while others are celebrating Biological Clock Day, Great Poetry Reading Day or National Cubicle Day, click here to sign the pledge to honor the athletes recognized on National Adaptive Sport Day.
