I’ve been a big fan of Josh Agle, stage named Shag (the last two letters of his first name and the first two of his second), for a long time. I have an original (The Mournful Ukulele) and a number of his prints (including ‘Wives With Knives” and “Two Heavy Drinkers”).
If I had any wall space left, I’d snatch a recent print entitled “The Triumph Of Evel.” The art pays tribute to the motorcycle daredevil, Evel Knievel, and it is on sale for 60% off the regular price. I feel sorry for the fans who purchased the print at full price because they just took a 60% hit in the art’s value, but that is the fickle business of art investment (I’ve done pretty good on my Mournful Ukulele original).
