You don’t expect to be impressed or surprised by an artist who has been releasing albums since 1981 and you certainly don’t expect to be moved by said artist’s 25th album release. I mean, what could be left to say? The answer to that question is plenty.
Robyn Hitchcock’s The Confuser is devoid of fillers. Every cut impresses and it is one of those rare albums that grows on you after repeated listenings.
I could play it safe and post “I Am This Thing” or “My Dead Astronaut” but I’m going way down the set list to the album’s second-to-last song, “Monday For Me.” Enjoy.
