Classic Kawasaki Running When Parked That Knocks Off A Classic BSA

It is said that imitation is the best form of flattery and in 1968 Kawasaki flattered BSA with their 650 W1. When new, the W1 probably did everything better than a BSA A10 Super Rocket except hold its resale value and even that is debatable.

This W1 would be great as a parts bike for anyone already into this Kawasaki model and a competent craftsmen could bring this back to its original glory. The asking price is not crazy to somebody who knows their way around vintage Kawasaki motorcycles. Click on the image below to make it bigger.

Don’t BSA me: It would be easy for an untrained eye to believe this engine was manufactured in England but it came from the other side of the planet. Note that the shifter is located on the right side which was the style for British motorcycles of this era. The electronics and carburation were a marked improvement over the British offerings.
