Yamaha YZ250 Perfect For Vintage Motocross

Yamaha YZ250 Perfect For Vintage Motocross

Wish this guy had included larger photos in his Running When Parked ad because this looks like a steal for anybody who wants to try a little vintage motocross racing. The carb is easy to service and slapping on new tires will get you to the starting gate. I’ve always had a soft spot for these monoshock motocross bikes. They looked trick back in 1979 and they look trick today (after you replace the red fork boots with black ones). The plastic and decals appear to be in great shape. That’s a good indication that it wasn’t left outside. The asking price is fair if the engine and trans are sound.

The phrase “Running When Parked” (RWP) is code for a once treasured possession that has been neglected in the corner of the garage or tool shed for far too long. Lacking the energy, time or resources to bring the little beauty back to life, the owner lists it for sale in hopes that a new owner will massage it back to health. Our collection of RWP bikes fall into two distinct categories; treasure or trash. And you are the only one who can properly judge which category the bike belongs in.
