Three-Wheeled Running When Parked Perfect For Collectors Only

The Honda atc 70 was a cute little all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that was marketed in the early 80’s as a fun vehicle for the entire family. Unfortunately, the ATV was a tricky vehicle to operate and anything but “family friendly.” It was easy for an inexperienced rider to experienced a rollover going uphill, downhill or on flat terrain. The saddle encouraged taking a passenger and the ATV used a fixed axle instead of a differential. And the vehicles were ankle biters. If the ATV did start a rollover, the natural tendency to extend a leg sometimes lead to a broken leg (or worse). The Find Law website has a detailed article on the Honda ATV Litigation.

So why am I telling you all this? Because this Running When Parked looks like a pretty good deal if you want to restore the vehicle, place it in a museum and never start or ride the thing. This is not the vehicle you want to get running for your kids.

This is a very clean Honda ATC that shouldn’t be too tough to bring up to museum quality. And once restored, it should stay in a museum.

The phrase “running when parked” (RWP) is code for a once treasured possession that has been neglected in the corner of the garage or tool shed for far too long. Lacking the energy, time or resources to bring the little beauty back to life, the owner lists it for sale in hopes that a new owner will massage it back to health. Our collection of RWP bikes fall into two distinct categories; treasure or trash. And you are the only one who can properly judge which category the bike belongs in.
