1976 Honda Elsinore 175 Ready For Quick Restoration

This runner when parked appears to need very little to get it running. The bike is all there. Restore it or just fire the thing up and ride it. A cool little 2-stroke. This isn’t the first time Running When Parked found a sweet Elsinore. Check this one out. The phrase “running when parked” (RWP) is code for a once treasured possession that has been neglected in the corner of the garage or tool shed for far too long. Lacking the energy, time or resources to bring the little beauty…

Evel Knievel’s 1976 Harley-Davidson For Sale

Here is a rare opportunity to own part of Evel Knievel’s history. The Harley-Davidson XLCH 1000 used in the movie Viva Knievel! is being offered for the asking price of $150,000. The asking price is very reasonable when compared to other collectable vehicles and it is an absolute steal to the right Evel fan. You should act fast if you’d like to add this one-of-a-kind bike to your collection or museum.

Another Beezer Running When Parked

Man, a whole lot of BSA motorcycles show up during my searches for Running When Parked candidates. Here is another beautiful example. A 1970 BSA Lightning that the owner’s nephew says enjoyed a frame-up restoration in 2005 and hasn’t been started or ridden since. The bike appears to be complete and the only thing that jumps out is the cracked paint on the side panels. Not too sure why that would happen to a bike that has been sitting unmolested for 13 years. There may have been an issue with…

Husqvarna Miracle Machine Was Running When Parked

This Husqvarna is indeed a miracle machine if it was truly running when parked. That’s because careful examination of the photos reveals that the bike does not have a carburetor. Did the rider hold a spray bottle of gasoline and squirt it into the intake port to get this beast fired up? Maybe. Regardless, this is one rough Husky that could serve as a parts bike. Good luck finding the parts necessary to rebuild this project. The phrase “running when parked” (RWP) is code for a once treasured possession that…

1969 Yamaha YL2-C “Running When Parked” A Fun Project

Ever notice how any car or motorcycle manufactured in 1969 is cooler than any other year? I’m sure you can find exceptions, but for the most part, 1969 rules. This Yamaha YL2-C is a prime example. While $1200 might be a stretch, it sure looks like a fun project that shouldn’t take too much effort to get running. The seller gets bonus points for posting really great photos (there were a ton more than I posted here) and making fun of the “Running When Parked” line. The phrase “running when…

Hurricane Warning On The Craig-Vetter Designed Triumph

The Triumph Hurricane is a collectable motorcycle and this example looks very well preserved. Still, it is a hard call. The seller only posted one photo that is sharp enough to check out the bike’s condition. And you can only see the bike from the right side. If the seller really thinks he’s going to get $15,000, at least remove the shop light from the handlebar and use that bottle of Nu Finish to polish the bike (wonder if the light and wax are included in the sale). It wouldn’t…

Captain America Fails To Sell His Motorcycle (UPDATED)

We watched this Captain America motorcycle auction carefully, thinking someone might make a last-minute bid to capture this crime-fighting motorcycle. Didn’t happen. The $100,000 opening bid didn’t attract any bidders, proving the  buy-it-now price of $300,000 was a pipe dream. Maybe the bike will be relisted with more realistic asking values. The original story…. Times are tough for super heroes. Captain America, who lives off his meager social security checks and small payments from sporadic personal appearances, is trying to sell his beloved 1977 Yamaha. The bike looks like a…

1964 BSA Starlite Motorcycle A Rare Opportunity

This “Running When Parked” is a rare find for any BSA collector and the asking price is realistic. The bike appears to be in good shape and was probably stored properly (no major sun damage, ripped saddle or cracking tires). I like the forward-mounted rear shocks (done way before motocross bikes re-started the trend). The bike looks like BSA’s response to the Honda 50 from the same period. Very cool. The phrase “running when parked” (RWP) is code for a once treasured possession that has been neglected in the corner…
