Suzuki TS125 Running When Parked A Fun Project

Suzuki TS125 Running When Parked A Fun Project

Sorry to be a stickler but how could a bike be running when parked without a carburetor? That was a sweet trick six years ago. It would be a miracle today. Also the ad reads, “The bike is all there.” Well, that is except for the missing carb!

You can find a carb on eBay for a song and the rest of the bike does look pretty good. The seller has an asking price of $123 and I have no idea what that means. Most likely a typo. If you are a Suzuki fan (I am) and want a fun project, I’d drive over there with $450 in cash (preferably in $10 bills) and only show the owner half of it.

There is a big gap where the carb once connected the airbag to the cylinder. The seat looks like it will crack when you sit on it, but the pipe, turn signals and frame look to be in good shape.

The phrase “running when parked” (RWP) is code for a once treasured possession that has been neglected in the corner of the garage or tool shed for far too long. Lacking the energy, time or resources to bring the little beauty back to life, the owner lists it for sale in hopes that a new owner will massage it back to health. Our collection of RWP bikes fall into two distinct categories; treasure or trash. And you are the only one who can properly judge which category the bike belongs in.
