Save $100 By Reading To The End Of Ad

Gotta point out a few discrepancies in this ad (and one will save you $100).  The headline has the asking price at $600 but if you take the time to read to the last line, the price has already come down to $500. A great deal? Not so fast, tough guy. This is one rough-looking RWP’ed. The carbs are MIA. So is the airbox/air filter. The pipes are detached and resting on the ground. The magneto cover is missing (and there doesn’t appear to be any electronics to cover anyway). The clutch cable is dangling above the front fender. And those problems are just what we can see from the right side. So what is the other discrepancy? The ad calls this bike a “cafe” racer. Looks more like a drag bike with a wheelbase that will rival most hook-and-ladder trucks. Good luck getting this CB down any twisty canyon road. This is, at best, a parts bike.

The phrase “running when parked” (RWP) is code for a once treasured possession that has been neglected in the corner of the garage or tool shed for far too long. Lacking the energy, time or resources to bring the little beauty back to life, the owner lists it for sale in hopes that a new owner will massage it back to health. Our collection of RWP bikes fall into two distinct categories; treasure or trash. And you are the only one who can properly judge which category the bike belongs in.
