HOG The Road With This Harley-Davidson RWP’ed

Kelly Blue Book lists the value of a 1970 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide at $11,000 if it is in good-running condition. While this example appears to be complete, the bike lived outside (maybe under a tarp) and the ad states it has been 12 months since “parked.” The ad does say “make offer” so there is some wiggle room.

I’d be tempted to look for a good-running 70’s Electra Glide and pay $11,000 rather than sink $9500 into this RWP’ed dreaming that the $1500 difference will get the bike running (and looking good). Now, if the guy would take $5000, that’s a different story.

Rough but complete. It looks like everything is in the right place. If you are fine riding a rat bike and can shave some bucks off the asking price, go for it.
This is what a speedo should look like. Classic.
The highway is calling.

The phrase “Running When Parked” (RWP) is code for a once treasured possession that has been neglected in the corner of the garage or tool shed for far too long. Lacking the energy, time or resources to bring the little beauty back to life, the owner lists it for sale in hopes that a new owner will massage it back to health. Our collection of RWP bikes fall into two distinct categories; treasure or trash. And you are the only one who can properly judge which category the bike belongs in.
