Don Emde Celebrates the 50th Anniversary Of His Daytona Win And You’re Invited

Fifty years on it still ranks as the greatest Cinderella story in American motorcycle racing history and a stunning upset victory. A 21-year-old son of a San Diego motorcycle shop owner races a 350cc, two-stroke Yamaha to win the Daytona 200, the most prestigious American motorcycle event of the time (1972).

On Saturday March 12th, the 50th Anniversary of his Daytona win, Don Emde will celebrate the historic moment with a book signing and an afternoon presentation explaining how he pulled off his amazing win against the odds. Don will also take your questions after the presentation.

The “party” is limited to 150 people and will be held at the Carson Center in Carson, California. Expect to rub shoulders with racing legends and learn facts never revealed to the general public before. If you can attend, you need to purchase your tickets right away (tickets will not be sold at the door). You can buy your ticket (that includes a signed copy of Don’s Daytona 200 book and lunch) and get more information by clicking here.

Jimmy Mac On Two Wheels will see you there.

Still in the game: Today Don is a publisher of motorcycle books and trade magazines. You may have seen our review of his book, The Speed Kings. All of Don’s books will be available for sale at the event and Don will make time to sign your copies.
