CORSA MOTOCLASSICA RETURNS TO WILLOW SPRINGS APRIL 21-23

CORSA MOTOCLASSICA RETURNS TO WILLOW SPRINGS APRIL 21-23

UPDATE: April 11, 2017 – Sorry, but I won’t be making it out to this event. It falls on the same weekend as the Steve Tilford Memorial event.

It has been a number of years since I’ve made it out to the Corsa Motoclassica vintage motorcycle road race at Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamond, California, but I hope to make up for that on this year’s April 21-23 race weekend.  The event is sanctioned by AHRMA (American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association) and runs over three days.  My advice is to target Saturday because in addition to the racing, there will be a vintage bike show and, careful now, a swap meet.  Friday is a practice and track school day.  Sunday is a race day for the surviving bikes that didn’t blow up on Friday and Saturday.  These are vintage bikes, remember. Gates open at 7 a.m. all days and racing starts at 12. See you there?

The Honda 160 class is sometimes the largest of the weekend with the tightest racing.
Walking the pits is a jaw-dropping experience.
Many of Southern California’s finest vintage bikes show up for Saturday’s bike show.
Most of the bikes you’ll see (both on the track and in the bike show) are in better condition now then when they were first sold. There is a lot of love put into these bikes.
